Adult males from my breeding group shown in this picture. In my opinion, Aves Creek are the most beautiful variant of Melanotaenia boesmani . The dominant males show off with the most amazing reds on the rear half of their bodies. They are slow growing and can become quite large fish at 4 to 5 inches fully grown. Australian Rainbowfish are peaceful, easy to care for aquarium fish that can live a long time. The fish being sold were bred here and being sold as young male / female pairs with the males just starting to show some color coming in 1.25-2.0 inch total length.
